Railroad construction company Sharp & Fellows Inc. of Los Angeles has added three-decade rail industry veteran Wayne Penn to its team as assistant general manager. Penn’s long and varied career in rail includes serving as superintendent of road operations for Amtrak Southwest and managing rail system safety and compliance for North County Transit District Coaster and Sprinter passenger-rail systems in San Diego County, California. Prior to joining Sharp & Fellows, Penn served as senior rail-system safety specialist for Parsons Corp. Penn will focus on improving Sharp & Fellows’ safety, health and environmental programs and project-specific safety guidelines.

Ondas Networks Inc., a subsidiary of Ondas Holdings Inc., received its first purchase order from a major European rail customer for the Ondas FullMAX MC-IoT private wireless network technology. "Ondas has been focused on driving market adoption of its mission-critical IoT (MC-IoT) technology across industrial and government markets with an initial focus on the large North American rail markets," said Eric Brock, chairman and chief executive officer of Ondas Holdings, in a press release. "Rail operators in Europe face many of the same challenges as our Class I rail customers."

The Coradia iLint, world's first hydrogen fuel-cell passenger train, manufactured by Alstom, world leader in green and smart mobility, has made its debut on the Railway Research Institute's test track in Poland. Over two days, Alstom teams are presenting the train to regional operators, transport authorities and government decision-makers to highlight the potential of the Coradia iLint for sustainable transport in Poland. Alstom Coradia iLint is the world’s first and only operational passenger train powered by hydrogen fuel cells.

Iowa Mold Tooling Co. Inc., an Oshkosh Corp. company, is commemorating its 60th anniversary. IMT products have been serving the building supply, construction, tire service, public works, mining, railroad, rental and propane markets. The company was founded in 1961 as a business creating new tread designs for recapping tires.
