Stantec, as part of the Balfour Beatty Vision 2 Reality Team, has been selected by the Jacksonville Transportation Authority to design and build Phase 1 of the its urban circulator program, The Bay Street Innovation Corridor. The program will modernize and expand the downtown transit circulator to accommodate autonomous vehicles (AV) and enhance overall mobility. As a key member of the team, Stantec will provide AV planning and integration design, intelligent transportation system infrastructure design, AV policy counsel and public outreach support.

WSP USA has brought in Dana Lowell to serve as the firm's zero emission senior technical adviser. In his new role, Lowell will help WSP deliver technical excellence through all zero emissions initiatives, collaborate with the firm’s global rail network to share international best practices, recruit zero emission specialists, conduct technical reviews of current initiatives and collaborate with the firm’s transit and rail market and practice leaders. Lowell has spent the past 25 years providing practical solutions to transit agencies and large fleet operators’ efforts to reduce and eliminate emissions.

Caltrax Inc. has hired Trevor Hammer as director of sales and business development. Hammer has  seven years of rail industry experience in areas such as human resources, accounting and finance, marketing and business development. In his new role, he will help Caltrax continue its focus on providing rail-car repair services to rail-car owners and shippers in Canada and the United States.
