The Railway Supply Institute (RSI) today announced Patty Long will become the association’s president on Nov. 29. Long has over 25 years of executive experience in trade associations, most recently serving as interim CEO and chief operating officer at the Plastics Industry Association. Earlier in her career, she spent 18 years at the National Association of Manufacturers, and also worked for the National Asphalt Pavement Association.

Railhead Corp. has been awarded the contract to supply and install high definition/4K onboard video systems for Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (G&W). Railhead will provide the latest locomotive digital video recorder (LDVR4K) systems and Twin View and Wedge cameras fleet-wide on all G&W short lines to support G&W’s safety initiatives, according to a Railhead news release.

Thales and EASIER, a division of IER, will supply revenue collection systems for several lines of the Grand Paris Express metro system in France, as well as integrating these systems into Ile-de-France existing ticketing infrastructure. The contract includes the delivery of close to 500 ticket-office and self-service ticket vending machines, plus 1,200 access gates. The partners will also provide long-term maintenance and upgrade support to future Grand Paris Express operators.

A new antenna from Huber+Suhner has been launched today to improve rail connectivity through the use of advanced dual polarization antenna technology. Designed to support potential 4G and 5G high data throughput over the train-to-ground connection, the SENCITY® Rail MIMO+ Rooftop antenna enables passengers to seamlessly carry out their digital activities onboard, according to a press release issued on behalf of Huber+Suhner.
