Rail supplier news from Plasser, Trinity, Alstom and Hollysys (Jan. 3)

Deutsche Plasser Bahnbaumaschinen GmbH and Robel’s Service & Support business unit are now one company: Plasser Robel Services GmbH (PRS). Established on Jan. 1, the company is the largest service organization within the Plasser & Theurer group of companies. PRS will oversee the life cycle of Plasser & Theurer's rail-bound vehicles and machines in selected markets and from Robel worldwide. Karl Oberreiter, former managing director of Deutsche Plasser and head of Robel’s business unit Service & Support, will be in charge of the company.

Trinity Industries Inc. has completed the previously announced sale of its highway products business for $375 million in cash, subject to certain adjustments based on levels of cash, debt and working capital at closing and for certain other items. The highway products business was sold to Rush Hour Intermediate II LLC, which is owned by an affiliated investment fund of Monomoy Capital Partners.

Alstom will provide full maintenance services for Bucharest’s Metrorex fleet for the next 15 years. The contract has an estimated value of 500 million euros. The services cover preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as overhauls for a total fleet of 82 trains at contract signature.

Hollysys Automation Technologies Ltd. Chit Nim Sung has resigned as the director of the board and CEO of the company. Changli Wang, who was the company’s founder, was nominated as board director and was appointed as CEO. In connection with these changes, Sung was appointed deputy CEO.
