Jacobs People & Places Solutions has been selected by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to serve as the prime designer for the Penn Station Access project, Metro-North Railroad’s largest-ever expansion. Jacobs will design a digital model of the expansion and support construction on the project, which includes new ADA-accessible stations, 19 miles of new and rehabilitated track, four bridge rehabilitations, and the modernization of signal, power and communication infrastructure.

Corteva Agriscience has become the exclusive distributor of Piper EZ Herbicide within the United States. The product is a new suspension concentrate liquid that maintains control of grasses and broadleaf weeds. Piper EZ is designed to be used for vegetation management purposes on roadsides, utility rights of way, railroads, airports and other noncrop sites, Corteva officials said in a press release.

Smith Eagle Logistics has been rebranded as SEL Supply-Chain Solutions (SELSCS), which will provide third-party logistics services across the United States and Mexico. The company has more than 25 years of transportation and logistics experience and aims to implement an entrepreneurial program for independent agents. The rebrand will help SELSCS in building relationships with new partners and further diversifying services, officials said in a press release.

Everysens has become a new member of Rail Freight Group (RFG), which is the representative body for freight rail in the United Kingdom. RFG seeks to increase the volume of goods moved by freight rail and promotes its use. RFG members include freight-rail operators, logistics companies, ports, equipment suppliers, property developers and support services.
