Hill International Inc. was awarded a contract by the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (Metrolink) to provide staff support for Metrolink's track, structure and signal rehabilitation program. Work that Hill will support includes replacing approximately 27,000 ties and 43,000 linear feet of rail; upgrading 1,146 linear feet of wood-tie track to concrete ties; rehabilitating 16 turnouts; designing, permitting and rehabilitating of multiple culverts; replacing rail top bridges; grading; upgrading nearly two dozen grade crossings; and implementing more than eight signal systems rehabilitation projects at more than 25 locations.

The League of Railway Women (LRW) has awarded its annual scholarships for 2022 to Sarah Taylor and Jessica Harrison. Taylor, director of business systems analysis at Kansas City Southern, received the Connie Sumara Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $3,000. Taylor is pursuing an executive MBA at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Harrison, who is completing her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering at Ecole de Technologie Superieur, received the Future of Railroading Scholarship in the amount of $2,000.
