Rail supplier news from ENSCO, KLD Labs, RailPros and Advanced Rail (April 28)

ENSCO Inc., a railway inspection technology company, has entered into an equity purchase agreement to acquire KLD Labs Inc., a provider of automated wayside inspection technology and laser profiling solutions. KLD will operate as an ENSCO subsidiary. Financial terms were not disclosed.

RailPros has hired Marco Loureiro as chief operating officer. Loureiro has more than two dozen years of experience in the architecture and engineering industry. As RailPros’ COO, Loureiro will oversee operations and provide strategic guidance and direction for ongoing pursuits, company officials said in a press release.

Advanced Rail Systems recently hired Nick Aber. Previously, Aber worked for Union Pacific Railroad, where he spent over 17 years in technical and management positions. His most recent responsibilities at UP included design, construction and technology implementation for hump and flat yards. His knowledge of such systems “complements ARS’s ability to provide the technology and systems to increase safety and fluidity for any terminal, hump or flat yard facility,” ARS officials said in a press release.
