Kawasaki Track Technologies is testing its locomotive-mounted autonomous track-geometry monitoring system at BNSF Railway Co. The technology provides near real-time track-geometry data for track-maintenance planning. Kawasaki began field testing the system in 2018 and production units have been in service since 2021 with more than 500,000 miles of geometry data provided to railroads, according to a company press release.

INFORM GmbH has deployed its Syncrotess Optimization Plus solution at Norfolk Southern Railway's Rossville terminal near Memphis, Tennessee. The solution adds advanced intelligence to a terminal’s existing terminal-operating system. INFORM has a suite of six industry optimization modules designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce operational costs. NS is using INFORM’s Yard Optimizer to intelligently manage stacked operations.

Bohr Electronics Inc. has introduced a fuel-transfer pump repair service available to North American locomotive maintenance shops. The new service specializes in fuel-priming pumps and pre-lube/turbo oak-back oil-pump repairs, as well as replacing bearings, shaft keys and O-rings on any pump model.

IntelliTrans announced that Operations Manager Karen Howlett has been named to Global Trade magazine’s Women in Logistics 2023. Howlett is one of 10 women chosen for recognition. Winners were selected based on their shining example of pushing the logistics and supply chain industry forward, according to a company press release.
