Auxo Investment Partners has acquired Cariboo Central Railroad Contracting, a western Canada-based railroad infrastructure maintenance and construction service provider to Class Is, short lines and industrial customers. The deal, which expands Auxo's growing railroad infrastructure maintenance platform, follows its acquisitions of Genesis Rail, a full-service railroad maintenance company, and Ferrovia Vegetation Management, a railroad vegetation management company.

Engineering and technology group Sener is participating as an independent checker engineer (ICE) for REM, Montreal’s new automated light-rail network. The system’s first segment between Brossard and Gare Centrale stations opened July 31. As the ICE, Sener checks the contractor’s design to verify compliance with the technical requirements outlined in the contract. Sener also verifies compliance with local regulations and produces certificates and a report of conformity.
