Sasser Family Cos. has named Thomas Clark president of the rail division, which includes Chicago Freight Car and CF Rail Services. Clark has more than 35 years of rail-industry experience, including in sales, operations and varied leadership roles. He began his career at Union Pacific Railroad and most recently served as a regional vice president at PNW Railcars Inc. At Sasser, he will report to CEO Jeff Walsh.

Blume Global will provide its asset management solution to Canadian Pacific Kansas City. The integration is designed to enable CPKC to increase visibility of its 53-foot domestic containers to Intermodal Marketing Companies (IMCs) in the United States, according to a Blume Global press release.

Parallel Systems, founded to create autonomous battery electric-rail vehicles, has introduced its second-generation vehicle, which is expected to be used with customers in pilot testing on existing rail networks in the United States and internationally. Parallel is conducting critical testing on the system, and is developing tools and software to enable railroad customers to operate Parallel vehicles from their existing dispatching and train-control systems.
