Stantec signed an agreement to acquire ZETCON Engineering, a 645-person firm in Bochum, Germany. ZETCON provides infrastructure planning, inspection, project management and construction management services. Transaction terms were not disclosed. The acquisition of ZETCON gives Stantec a strong platform focused on infrastructure. ZETCON has 13 offices in major German metropolitan areas. The firm has expertise in bridge certification and assessment; project and construction management of tunnels, roads and rail infrastructure; and building condition assessments, improvements and certifications, Stantec officials said in a press release.

RailPros recently opened an office in Chicago, marking a milestone in the Texas-based company’s expansion and growth strategy, company officials said in a press release. Located at 200 S. Wacker Dr., the new office is now the headquarters for Jennifer Drake, who joined RailPros in September as vice president of engineering Central Region, and a growing team of engineers. Chicago is the 15th office for RailPros, which has offices in eight states.

Thales, in partnership with MiTAC Information Technology Corp., will provide a new ticketing system for Taipei Rapid Transit Corp. The deployment is expected by 2025. The project aims to upgrade the gate electronic main module and enable QR and credit card payment options on gates along Taipei Metro metro lines, according to a Thales press release.

STV Inc. this week announced several personnel appointments. Bryan Williams has joined as vice president to lead the Pacific Northwest transportation market; Rob Troup has joined as senior VP and senior program manager for complex infrastructure programs; and Nathan Howell has joined as VP and market sector leader for health and well-being in the national buildings group.
