RailPros has acquired Nashville-based Omega Rail Management, which provides right-of-way management services on more than 70 corridors across more than 20 states. Omega will continue to provide the same service to clients, with new opportunities for additional services being offered by the combination of Omega and RailPros services and teams, officials at both companies said in a press release. Financial terms were not disclosed.

HNTB joined Sound Transit in celebrating the opening of the first portion of the Link 2 Line, a 6.6-mile light-rail route between South Bellevue and Redmond Technology stations in the Seattle area. This project consisted of eight new stations, a tunnel in downtown Bellevue and connections to local transit and the Eastrail regional trail network. Opening to the public on April 27, the Bellevue-to-Redmond extension has driven transit-oriented development and affordable housing investments, according to a press release issued by HNTB, which led the joint venture of the project's final design partners.

Stadler Rail obtained its first contract in Bulgaria, where it will deliver seven zero-emission KISS double-decker vehicles under a contract with the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The contract signed April 26 also includes an option for three additional vehicles, 15 years of fleet maintenance and training for the operator's staff. The four-car trains will reach a speed of about 100 mph and have a capacity of at least 300 seats. The first vehicle is slated to be delivered in 26 months, according to a Stadler press release.

LG Display Co. Ltd. has supplied its Transparent OLED displays to a train for the first time in Korea. The displays have been installed on the country’s newly launched Great Train eXpress (GTX), which connects major hubs in Seoul with the greater metropolitan area. As part of a pilot project, 16 Transparent OLEDs have been installed on an eight-car train running on the inaugural GTX-A line between Suseo and Dongtan. Additional OLED panels will be installed across all trains serving the GTX-A line after passenger feedback is considered, according to an LG Display press release.
