Wabtec Corp. announced a new order for Evolution Series ES43ACmi locomotives from SimFer, a joint venture among the government of the Republic of Guinea, Rio Tinto and Chalco Iron Ore Holdings. The order, valued at $277 million, will provide a locomotive fleet to serve the rail operations for the Simandou high-grade iron ore project, located in the east of Guinea.

Rail Vision Ltd. a technology company operating in the railway safety and data-related market, announced it successfully installed its product at one of Latin America’s leading mining companies, the company announced in a press release. Rail Vision’s team arrived at the mining company’s installation site, where both sides installed the artificial intelligence-based MainLine product. During Rail Vision’s visit, Rail Vision led training sessions for the mining company’s team. The mining company is one of the world's largest producers of metals.

HDR has promoted Nico Malfara to serve as leader of HDR’s transit practice in Canada. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Malfara will be responsible for leading the continued growth of HDR’s established transportation-consulting practice with transit clients across Canada. He will work with agencies to deliver on their most complex projects while also helping clients solve ongoing critical issues including funding, ridership, equity, safety and cost escalation.
