BNSF Railway Co. recently contracted Mincom Ltd. to provide supply-chain management, inventory, e-procurement and parts cataloging software.
Designed as a “one-stop shop” for all material needs, the modular software features stock, vendor-held consignment and direct charge requirement applications.
“This [software] provides BNSF with the solution to improve not only our material management processes, but increase our service levels and shorten turnaround times for receiving required parts for repairs,” said Michael McClary, BNSF director of purchasing processes and systems, in a prepared statement.
Mincom supplies software to governments and the transportation, mining, utilities and defense industries.
