Calgary Transit recently awarded a contract to ARINC Inc. to expand its light-rail central control system, enabling the agency to control and monitor vehicles on new northwest and south extensions.
Calgary Transit currently uses ARINC’s Advanced Information Management (AIM®) technology to control and monitor its 108-vehicle fleet.
AIM train-tracking systems are designed with off-the-shelf software to enable users to expand a train-control system. The software combines train-control and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition applications.
The northwest and south extensions will add 3.5 miles of double track and three stations to Calgary Transit’s 20-mile, 33-station system.
