advertisement
Philadelphia’s four major chambers of commerce recently announced passenger-car builder United Transit Systems (UTS) is building a facility near the city.
Owned by South Korea’s Rotem USA Corp. and Japan’s Sojitz Corp. of America, UTS will open its North American corporate headquarters and production facility later this year at the Philadelphia Naval Business Center, where it will assemble cars for U.S. and international customers.
The car manufacturer will help re-establish the rail-car industry in Philadelphia, chambers officials believe.
