Rail News: Railroading Supplier Spotlight
A Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. subsidiary recently was awarded a contract to provide design consulting for sections 1 and 5 of Great Britain’s Network Rail West Coast Modernization project.
Jacobs will provide various technical services for the 85-mile project, including master planning of the works and design-configuration control process. Jacobs also will ensure the outline design is completed.
The project is expected to increase train speeds to 125 mph, reduce transit times and increase route capacity by 2004, according to a prepared statement.
