advertisement
Kansas City Southern recently contracted Spear Technologies to provide asset management software designed to help maintain the railroad’s fleet of more than 500 locomotives and manage materials.
Spear will supply its Spear 3i™ Enterprise Asset Management software suite, which manages work, materials, warranty, inspection and image data.
The company also will provide its Mobile Workforce™ software and handheld devices for managing material and inspection data; and TouchPoint™ software to interface with KCS’ Enterprise Resource Planning system through a self-service, touch-screen kiosk. KCS plans to use TouchPoint for finance, purchasing, human resources, payroll and locomotive management functions.
Spear currently supplies asset management software to 35 railroads, which use the product to help maintain rolling stock, facilities and rights of way.
