advertisement

This fall, Kyocera Solar Inc. will begin large-scale assembly of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules at its Tijuana, Mexico, plant.

The company also plans to establish a regional office in San Diego for solar system engineering and marketing.

Kyocera’s PV modules convert sunlight into electricity with no moving parts or emissions, providing an environmentally friendly renewable energy source, according to a prepared statement. The Tijuana facility will produce modules ranging from 35 watts to 190 watts. The plant eventually will produce all the PV modules Kyocera sells in the Americas.
