Lat-Lon 'FastCast' set for tomorrow

Tomorrow at 1 p.m. (EST), Lat-Lon LLC will present a webcast on rail-car data generated from sensors and other sources.

A "FastCast" presented through Progressive Railroading, the free webcast is titled "Damage on the Rail, Breaking Down Impacts." The 30-minute FastCast will offer both shipper and engineer perspectives on how and why to mine specific data with regard to impact physics and acceleration/deceleration for optimal ride quality.

The speakers are Lat-Lon President Dave Baker and Olin Corp. Principal Software Engineer and Rail Security Coordinator Don Loftis. Their presentations will focus on how impact data is generated, flagging impacts, g-force and filtering effects, and how to boost equipment life and product quality via data analysis.
