Rail News: Railroading Supplier Spotlight
Union Switch & Signal Inc. (US&S) recently was awarded a contract to provide 50 MicroCab ® cab signal sets for new AnsaldoBreda light-rail vehicles operating on Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority’s (LA MTA) Blue Line.
The system will be interoperable with wayside cab signal coding circuits on LA MTA’s Green and Gold lines, so Blue Line trains will be able to operate on the Green and Gold lines using a single MicroCab package.
US&S also plans to integrate train-to-wayside communications subsystems with MicroCab for the Green and Gold lines.

Los Angeles MTA awards cab signal system contract to Union Switch & Signal
