MTA Metro-North Railroad awarded a contract to Railware Inc. to provide custom software design and development services for the agency’s operations control center.
Railware will upgrade Metro-North’s system software, which controls operations on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines. The supplier plans to work directly with the agency to design and develop the software, and provide test plans and technical support.
"The most challenging aspect of this project will be the management of the testing process to ensure the high levels of on-time service maintained by Metro-North are not affected," said Railware Vice President-Operations Jay Walser in a prepared statement.
