Members of the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association's (NRC) board, its policy and legislative committee and staff recently met with lawmakers on Capitol Hill to discuss issues impacting the railway industry.
The NRC delegation held meetings legislators from both Houses and staff from committees with jurisdiction over rail transportation and infrastructure policy and funding.
"Lawmakers are sometimes unaware of the significant role railway contractors and suppliers play in the safe and productive operation of our nation’s railways," said NRC President Ashley Wieland. "These meetings helped us share our story and establish an ongoing dialogue so lawmakers will look to the NRC and its members for information to guide their decisions."
