The National Railroad Construction & Maintenance Association's (NRC) 2015 Scholarship Program application and criteria will be made available July 31. The program offers higher education scholarships and tuition assistance to children and grandchildren of employees of NRC member companies.The program has awarded $22,000 in scholarships to seven students over the past two years. The funds are awarded in memoriam of Vinnie Vaccarello, former NRC board member and co-president of All Railroad Services Corp., and Patsy Crisafi, former NRC Safety Committee member and executive vice president of Roadway Worker Training Inc.The number of scholarships made available is based on funds donated to the scholarship program. NRC matches those funds. Donations may be made to NRC Scholarship Fund at NRC, 500 New Jersey Ave., NW, Suite 400, Washington, D.C., 20001.Past contributors to the scholarship fund are ARS Corp., Roadway Worker Training, Loram Maintenance of Way, Land Clearing Specialists Inc., Balfour Beatty Rail, Van R. Sorrells, Richard and Nancy Zemencik, Thomas and Lyria Lee, and William and Karen Tarvin.
