Rail News: Railroading Supplier Spotlight
Progress Rail Services Corp. recently contracted Lonesource Inc. to provide its consulting, training and automation software system. Progress Rail plans to implement Lonesource's Enterprise Transaction Management platform across all divisions to automate the procure-to-pay process.
The platform is designed to increase control over corporate-wide processes, electronically connect corporations to their suppliers and monitor procurement behavior.
"We want to help our customers increase their value and efficiency, and we want to work with vendors who help us increase our own efficiency," said Progress Rail Chief Financial Officer David Klementz in a prepared statement, adding that the platform will help the company reduce invoice processing requirements and improve efficiency.
Progress Rail supplies maintenance-of-way equipment, signal devices, reconditioned rail-car and locomotive components, and trackwork components, and provides locomotive and car repair services.
