Rail News: Railroading Supplier Spotlight
RMI officials are hoping 2005 is as strong a year for selling the company's rail information and technology services as last year. Since first-quarter 2004, RMI sold its RailConnect® suite of Web-based transportation management services to 41 railroads and rail shippers. Now, more than 235 railroads use RailConnect, and more than 75 percent of U.S., Canadian and Mexican short lines and regionals use one or more of RMI’s services.
Last year, RMI also developed Automated Manifest System (AMS), a new service designed to improve reporting processes with U.S. and Canadian customs agencies, and expedite traffic moving across borders. In addition, the company integrated Automatic Equipment Identification and Radio Frequency Identification reader technology with RailConnect to log rail shipment events, and leveraged a new m-Crew service to help small roads improve event reporting timeliness.
RMI's portfolio includes products designed to manage transportation, revenue, equipment, freight and rolling stock.
