A. Stucki Co. appointed David Oestermeyer chief commercial officer. A rail-supply leader for more than 35 years, Oestermeyer will oversee all sales, customer service, marketing and commercial activities of the company and will remain president of Salco Products, the rail supply business he established in 1983 and sold to Stucki in early 2020. Oestermeyer’s primary focus will be accelerating the integration and alignment of commercial activities across the Stucki portfolio, which has grown significantly in recent years through acquisitions, according to a Stucki press release.

Leclanche SA will provide its proprietary battery technology to Canadian Pacific for its hydrogen locomotive program. Announced in December 2020, the project will retrofit a line-haul diesel freight locomotive with hydrogen fuel cells and Leclanche’s European manufactured lithium-ion batteries to power the locomotive's electric traction motors. Leclanche will also provide its proprietary energy management software for optimum integration. The project is designed to evaluate the combined technologies’ readiness for the freight-rail sector.
