American Industrial Transport Inc. (AITX) has hired Jen Roth as director of talent management. Roth joins AITX with nearly 15 years of strategic talent management experience, 10 of which were in the rail-car services industry. She previously held various senior recruitment and organizational management positions at Watco, GBW Railcar Services, Appalachian Railcar Services and Cathcart Rail.

CDL 1000, a logistics industry technology company, is promising a 24-hour turnaround to pull any container and clear it out of a U.S. port or rail yard on behalf of both new and existing customers. The pledge is aimed at helping shippers avoid fees associated with containers sitting idle, CDL officials said in a press release. The company created an escrow account that will pay demurrage and storage fees on behalf of customers if the firm doesn't meet its promise of moving containers on time.

The League of Railway Women is seeking strategic, forward-thinking and creative rail industry women to serve on LRW’s board. LRW is run by an all-volunteer board from women around the rail and rail-supply industry. To accommodate amended bylaws, this year’s elections will include positions for one-year (January 2023 to December 2023) and two-year terms (January 2023 to December 2024). Nominations are due Aug. 26.
