American Industrial Transport Inc. (AITX) has expanded its repair and maintenance network across the Northeast and Midwest with facilities in Milton, Pennsylvania, and Clinton, Indiana. Both facilities are open and servicing repair customers. AITX Milton is in central Pennsylvania’s Susquehanna River Valley outside of Harrisburg and located on the Norfolk Southern Railway line. AITX Clinton is in Vermillion County in western Indiana on the Wabash River and located on the CSX line.

RailPros has appointed Jeff Vines chief financial officer to oversee the company’s finance and accounting department. Most recently, Vines was VP of transformation at Magellan Healthcare. He has more than 20 years of experience creating financial disciplines and controls, operating efficiencies and business acquisitions in various industries.

Alstom is using Replique's on-demand 3D printing/additive manufacturing platform to produce customized industrial-grade serial parts, Alstom announced. Digitizing its supply chain enables Alstom to produce small batches on demand, reducing complexity in the supply chain so that first series are produced faster and are more cost-effective. In train manufacturing, small batch sizes lead to high manufacturing costs due to the production of molds and other tools.

Tenneco will introduce its new LL brake lock at the InnoTrans conference to be held Sept. 20-23 in Berlin. Tenneco's Advanced Jurid® 847 LL is designed is to help reduce noise, lower lifecycle costs and improve operating security. The Jurid 847 has been homologated by the International Union of Railways and represents Tenneco's second generation of LL blocks for Europe.
