A&R Logistics has promoted Alex Buck to president of its 3PL Division. Previously, Buck was A&R's senior vice president and chief strategy, safety and legal officer. Prior to joining A&R in 2019, Buck led the customer success function at a hyper-growth technology company that provides predictive analytics for some of the biggest industrial brands in the world. Her technology background will help accelerate A&R's technology platform and suite of services, according to an A&R news release.

nVent Electric plc and Power Resources International Inc. announced a strategic alliance to provide rail and switch heating solutions to the North American transit industry. The alliance will provide solutions based on nVent RAYCHEM technology. nVent RAYCHEM heat trace systems are designed to protect people, processes and infrastructure.

Kaleris has launched Transport Analytics to increase enterprise analytics across the rail supply chain. Transport Analytics visualization tools and intuitive dashboards are designed to help users analyze large data sets, aggregate key performance indicators, and quickly identify and manage exceptions to improve asset utilization, inventory turns and productivity, according to a Kaleris news release.

SKF has signed a long-term agreement with rail vehicle manufacturer Stadler Rail to equip and service rolling stock for the Berlin underground (U-Bahn) in Germany. The 32-year contract is worth several million euros. It includes a number of SKF solutions, ranging from wheel set bearings and axle boxes to lubrication systems. SKF will also cover spares supply.

U.S. Rep. Bob Latta (R-Ohio) visited Hiab USA's National Support Center in Perrysburg, Ohio, for a tour of its facility and discussion about the company’s business operations and products, according to a press release issued by the Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA). Founded in 1944, the company offers a product line that includes knuckle-boom cranes, material handler loaders and truck-mounted forklifts. Hiab is a REMSA member.
