AnoDynamix, a diesel engine performance solutions provider based in Carthage, Missouri, achieved a milestone in environmental stewardship in the rail industry now that OmniTRAX has successfully implemented North America's first Plasma AirJet System tailored for locomotives. The pilot program is part of AnoDynamix’s new initiative to elevate rail-fleet performance, according to an AnoDynamix press release. The company is the distributor of the Plasma AirJet System. AnoDynamix employs the patented PurePurple Tech, developed by Clack Technologies, within the engine component system to reduce particulate emissions and enhance fuel efficiency.

Naik-STV Engineering Joint Venture, a joint venture of Naik Consulting Group and STV, has been awarded a program management consultant contract by Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Construction and Development. The contract covers two design-build projects in New York City: replacement of 21 escalators at six subway stations and replacement of 37 elevators at 17 stations. The projects are expected to take 30 to 36 months, with Phase 1 construction starting in third-quarter 2024, according to an STV press release.

ZTR, which offers advanced rail-car telematics and locomotive control solutions, has received certification from RailPulse, the industry initiative focused on bringing next-generation rail-car visibility, tracking and data-driven decision-making to rail transportation. As a certified vendor, ZTR's rail-car monitoring and sensor technology solution, Pivot, has been recognized for meeting RailPulse's high standards in telematics performance, data integration and accuracy, according to a ZTR press release.

Keolis Commuter Services, the operating partner for the Massachusetts Bay Area Transportation Authority's commuter-rail service, has completed station beautification at Lynn Interim Station on the Newburyport/Rockport Line. Keolis volunteers joined community groups and local officials to install artwork produced by Raw Art Works, a community arts organization rooted in art therapy. Volunteers also cleaned up the station area and placed new landscaping near the platform.
