Balfour Beatty has sold its U.S. track solutions operations to Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group for $7.25 million. The track solutions operations, which have an annual revenue of $10 million, provide niche services for the rail sector. Balfour Beatty’s U.S. rail sector strategy remains focused on its core operational rail services, including large capital programs, traction power and operate and maintain services, company officials said in a press release.

Railhead Corp. will supply a new onboard monitor that will pair with the existing locomotive digital video recorder systems already installed on Chicago commuter railroad Metra's cab cars. The system will give passengers the ability to view their bicycles while onboard. Metra's bike cars can carry 16 bicycles. Riders can identify the cars by their blue and grey paint scheme.

The Greenbrier Companies, Inc. has released its 2021 environmental, social and governance report, On Track Together. For the second consecutive year, the report was prepared in accordance with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board framework.

The League of Railway Women (LRW) has named Michele Malski this year's member of the year. Malski is LRW director-at-large and founder and president of Succession Planning for Railroads Investing in the Next Generation (SPRING). A second-generation railroader, Malski founded SPRING to help employers recruit and retain next-generation railroaders. In 2017, Progressive Railroading named her a Rising Star in the rail industry.
