Ballard Power Systems has received an order for eight additional 200 kW fuel cell modules to support the expansion of Canadian Pacific’s hydrogen locomotive program. Ballard will provide CP with 14 total fuel cell modules. Expected delivery is this year. CP has expanded its program from one to three hydrogen locomotives. The program is partially supported by CA$15 million in funding from Emissions Reduction Alberta.

Hitachi Rail has signed on to operate and maintain the metro system of Princess Noura Bint Abdul Rahman University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for three years. The contract, valued at 72.5 million euros, involves a rail network consisting of four elevated lines spanning about 7 miles and connecting to 14 stations. Hitachi Rail was responsible for building the autonomous railway, which was completed in 2011.

IMC Cos. has hired Sabrina Fields to serve as vice president of people strategies and human resources for the marine drayage company. She has more than 20 years of experience in human resources leadership, including as labor relations manager at International Flavors & Fragrances, human resources manager at Rich Products Corp. and senior human resources manager at J.R. Simplot Co.
