Bohr Electronics obtained a contract from CSX for fully furnished electrical cabinets for its GP40-3 locomotive rebuild program. Bohr Electronics will provide AC and HVC cabinet shells with new and remanufactured components during 2023, according to a company press release.
Siemens Mobility has been selected by Metrolinx to provide track, signal and right-of-way maintenance services for the agency's railway infrastructure system that makes up Toronto’s western region. Currently, Siemens Mobility provides various services and products to Metrolinx including signal and communications back-office support and fault control services at Metrolinx's Network Operations Center in Oakville, Ontario.
The process for updating rail-car data has been optimized in Railinc's Umler® system, according to a company press release. "Those users who have been managing this massive database through periodic receipt of equipment update messages can, instead, have access to continuously updated railcar data," said Clayton Miller, product manager at Railinc. Miller led a Railinc team in the two-year development effort of the cloud-to-cloud system, which was launched last year and is ready for implementation by rail-car owners, lessors and railroads.
Transdev announced Neal Krokosky recently joined the company’s legal team as deputy general counsel for litigation. Krokosky has nearly 15 years of experience as an associate attorney for private firms and as a corporate litigator for multinational brands. Transdev is a private-sector provider of public transportation services, including rail.
