Bombardier Transportation has named Laurent Troger president. Recently promoted to chief operating officer of transportation, Troger has been with the company for 11 years. Before joining Bombardier, he worked for 15 years at Alstom Transport, where he held several leadership positions, including senior vice president, transportation systems and vice president, transportation information systems. Troger succeeds Lutz Bertling, who is stepping down to pursue other career opportunities, Bombardier officials said in a press release.Advent Intermodal Solutions has announced new updates to its eModal platform as part of a planned 2016 redesign of the system. The platform is the world's largest port community system and is used throughout North America, AIS officials said in a press release. Changes to the core functionality of the platform include usability enhancements to the platform's container availability and booking inquiry function, along with new services such as the eModal Community Portal, where users can receive terminal information to improve logistics planning. Meanwhile, AIS appointed Parvez Mansuri chief executive officer. He has more than 20 years of experience in the intermodal industry.The American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) has announced a formal partnership with the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA). Through this relationship, the two will work together to identify sources of transportation capacity for humanitarian relief in support of ALAN's mission to save lives and reduce suffering for disaster survivors, officials said in a joint press release. The partnership is effective immediately, and ALAN is sharing information on transpiration needs related to recent disasters including flooding in South Carolina and Texas.Shannon & Wilson hired Stephanie Fortner as marketing manager in the firm's Denver office. She'll also lead corporate marketing events. Fortner has nearly 25 years of experience in marketing, business development, proposal management, public relations and communications. Over the past 20 years she has helped Denver-area architecture, engineering, and design consulting firms grow their businesses and market presence.HOTSTART has hired Casey Hall as market manager for the railroad sector. He will be responsible for sales and account management for locomotive engine heating products for the U.S. and Canadian Class I and short-line market. Hall joins the company's outside sales team with nine years of sales experience in the locomotive industry, having previously worked for Hadady Corp. as senior sales representative focusing on locomotive brake rigging.
