Burns & McDonnell has hired Michael Atzert as a rail project manager for the engineering firm's transportation group. Atzert has 20 years of experience in track and bridge design, construction and rehabilitation for industries, ports, short lines and Class Is. In his new role, Atzert will support rail-related projects to optimize design and functionality, save on costs and improve safety and operations, according to a company press release.

Telegraph has a new agreement with Watco to deliver a software platform that will provide customers visibility of their rail cars beyond Watco facilities or tracks, according to a Telegraph said in a press release. The software provides predictability and visibility for carload and intermodal shipments by leveraging EDI, API and telematics integrations.

InnoTrans 2022 hosted about 140,000 visitors from 131 countries and more than 2,800 exhibitors from 56 countries during the three-day convention that concluded Sept. 23 in Berlin. About 56% of attendees were first-time visitors, InnoTrans officials said in a press release. The 2022 event was InnoTrans' first show since 2018. The planned 2020 convention was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
