D/Gauge Ltd. and Cordel Group PLC have secured a network scanning and clearance software contract with Genesee and Wyoming Inc.

D/Gauge Ltd. and Cordel Group PLC have secured a network scanning and clearance software contract with Genesee and Wyoming Inc. (G&W). The companies will provide D/Gauge Rift Software to G&W for assessing clearances, particularly for high-and-wide load movements. The software and hardware package will provide scanning and storage of network-wide structure survey data, and the automated calculation and reporting of clearance information for the entire network.

AECOM and the Portal Connectors team have been selected by the Transbay Joint Powers Authority in San Francisco to provide program management and construction management services for the Downtown Rail Extension (DTX) project. The tunneling and station project will extend Caltrain rail service from its current terminal at Fourth and King Streets to the Salesforce Transit Center and accommodate future California high-speed rail service, according to a AECOM news release.

STV has hired Tara Soesbee as vice president of rolling stock client engagement. She will work with agencies to support vehicle procurement programs and support STV’s national vehicles practice, according to a news release. Prior to joining STV, Soesbee served as the senior director for Amtrak’s long-distance fleet replacement program.

The League of Railway Women (LRW) is seeking women in the rail industry with an interest in connecting and cultivating women in rail to join its board of directors. LRW is run by an all-volunteer board. LRW board positions are nominated as directors at large and there are three open positions. Board nominations are due to the LRW by Aug. 30.
