The Greenbrier Cos. Inc. announced today that its board appointed President and Chief Operating Officer Lorie Tekorius as the company's next CEO and president, effective March 1, 2022. On the same date, Greenbrier's co-founder, Chairman and CEO William Furman will assume the newly created role of executive chair until his retirement. These actions continue the company's executive succession and talent pipeline process. As announced in July 2020, Furman will retire from all executive offices in September 2022. His current board term continues until January 2024.
HDR Inc. has hired Nathan Macek as infrastructure finance director. He will advise HDR’s global clients on funding and financing strategy for infrastructure development and operations. Macek has more than 20 years of experience applying innovative approaches to budget challenges faced by public agencies. He has developed financial models to evaluate funding, alternative project delivery and financing for rail, transit and highway projects in the United States, Europe, Caribbean and the Middle East.
Industry-Railway Suppliers Inc. in September held its first Chicago Railroad Show at the company’s headquarters in Elmhurst, Illinois. The outdoor maintenance-of-way product showcase displayed track maintenance tools and large equipment from many companies, including Willamette Valley Co., Enerpac, Pandrol, Rosenqvist, Matweld, Norton Saint Gobain and Swingmaster Corp. The show also featured product demonstrations by a number of vendors.
