As previously announced, The Greenbrier Cos. Inc. has appointed Lorie Tekorius as president and CEO, effective March 1. Chairman, CEO and co-founder William Furman will serve as executive chair and be responsible for certain line functions until Aug. 31. Furman will retire from all executive offices at that time. He will remain an active board member until January 2024. Tekorius began her career with Greenbrier in 1995 and has risen through many positions of increasing leadership. Most recently, she served as president and chief operating officer.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and its commuter-rail operator Keolis will take additional steps to enhance the protocols for testing a grade crossing protection system on Middlesex Avenue in Wilmington, Massachusetts. With multiple tests confirming that all elements of the crossing's infrastructure have continued to perform as designed, the MBTA and Keolis are focused on the human element of federally-mandated crossing testing, authority officials said in a press release.

IMC Cos. has hired Thomas Grant as vice president of logistics sales and services. Previously, Grant worked at Crowley, serving on the company’s sales and logistics team for nearly 28 years, most recently as senior director of national accounts. In his new role, he is responsible for generating business growth across all of IMC's operating companies. In addition, he manages logistics of the organization by developing strategies to support IMC’s long-term growth.
Holland is marking 50 years of offering mobile flash-butt welding services. FWX 101 was the first self-propelled rail car with a portable electric flash-butt welding machine in North America. Throughout the years, Holland improved its MobileWelder® design and flash-butt welding equipment. Today, Holland’s fleet consists of roughly 200 MobileWelders across North America and Australia, with flash-butt welding equipment operating in over 36 countries. Holland’s fleet also consists of configurations for turnout welding, unique transit settings and facilities with crane rail.
