HNTB Corp. has promoted Chris Lester to office leader in Arlington, Virginia. Most recently, Lester served as deputy office leader overseeing more than 250 professionals and the expansion from two offices to six offices in the areas of Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. Prior to that, he served in various leadership roles, including serving as the transportation department manager, transportation group director, office sales manager and client service team leader.

A&R Logistics announced  it has rebranded to Quantix. The name unites the A&R Logistics family of companies into a single brand. The combination leads to the retirement of all existing names, including A&R Logistics, Blue Water Plastic Transport, Plantgistix, First Choice Logistics, L.T. Harnett Trucking Inc., Luckey Trucking and RJ's Transportation.

The Railway Supply Institute (RSI) is marking the 50th anniversary of the RSI-Association of American Railroads (AAR) Railroad Tank Car Safety Research and Test Project. In 1970, RSI and AAR jointly established the safety project to conduct scientific and engineering analyses of railroad tank car accidents to identify and evaluate concepts for improving the damage resistance of tank cars. Over the past five decades, the two organizations have invested more than $20 million in the project, while also investing hundreds of millions more in safety improvements to the tank car fleet.
