HNTB Corp. has tapped K. Jane Williams as a national practice consultant and vice president in the firm's advisory practice. Based in Washington, D.C., Williams will serve clients nationwide as an adviser related to federal transportation funding and policy strategies. Williams has more than two decades of experience in federal and state government along with work in the private sector in transportation and infrastructure. She served as senior adviser to U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao during the Trump administration and as acting administrator for the Federal Transit Administration from August 2017 to January 2021. As acting FTA administrator, Williams managed some of the largest formula and competitive grant programs within the U.S. Department of Transportation DOT representing more than $80 billion in economic investment in transportation infrastructure, according to an HNTB press release.

Alstom announced it will supply Ile-de-France Mobilites and RATP with 103 new MF19 transits, which is the new generation on rail, according to a press release. The contract is valued at about $874 million and is financed entirely by Ile-de-France Mobilites. The new fleet will replace the existing rolling stock on lines 13, 12 and 8 of the Ile-de-France metro system as of 2027.
