Hitachi Rail has named Turntide Technologies the preferred supplier for the design and supply of traction battery systems for the company's intercity battery train trial in northeast England. The partnership will work toward a trial to demonstrate how the battery technology can reduce emissions and fuel costs simultaneously. In addition to being named a preferred supplier, Turntide received the Hitachi Rail Partner Award for Sustainability for developing and manufacturing the battery system prototype for Hitachi Rail’s reduced emissions bi-mode and tri-mode trains.

STV Inc. has formed an advisory board made up of four industry leaders: Joseph Aiello, former Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority chairman; Karen Block, national water infrastructure leader; Kirk Steudle, former Michigan Department of Transportation director; and Beverley Swaim-Staley, former Maryland transportation secretary. The board will provide STV with independent, strategic advice about the architectural, engineering and construction industry and STV’s markets and services. Board members also will help mentor and coach STV’s next generation of leaders.

Assa Abloy Global Solutions-Critical Infrastructure announced Mark Pekovitch is the new ALWIN and Alkey Solutions product manager. Adding Pekovitch is the next phase in conjunction with the acquisition of ALCEA in August 2022. Pekovitch will work with the team at the CLIQ Competence Center in Texas.
