Hub Group Inc.'s board appointed Phillip Yeager president and chief operating officer, effective July 1. Yeager currently is chief commercial officer and is responsible for the intermodal and truck brokerage operating units. Prior to serving as CCO, Yeager led Hub Group’s intermodal operations, procurement, sales and account management teams, according to a Hub Group press release.

All Hands Fire Equipment LLC was awarded a 27-month contract to provide MTA New York City Transit (NYCT) with over 22,000 flagging lanterns and magnetic bases. NYCT requested a modified version of the company’s Eflare lanterns to meet new specifications and requirements for light beam profile, durability, battery life and lens and body design. The updated lanterns have passed NYCT's field testing and independent testing, and will be delivered this month, according to a company press release.

Hanson Professional Services Inc.’s Vice President and Project Manager Mat Fletcher celebrated 20 years of service with the company. Fletcher is involved in planning, design, bidding and construction for railroad bridge projects, according to a Hanson press release. He has provided services for more than 200 projects, including the grade separations for BNSF Railway Co. in Galesburg, Illinois; work for Union Pacific Railroad for the Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency program; the BNSF intermodal facility expansion in Memphis, Tennessee; a new triple track for BNSF in Kelso, Washington; and Alaska Railroad Corp.’s northern extension.

Cloud Logistics, a transportation management system provider, partnered with Raven Logistics, a rail management company, to offer a single cloud-based system for monitoring and managing rail, intermodal and truck shipments. The partnership will establish an affordable option for multimodal shippers that struggle with Rule 11, according to a joint press release. Rule 11 is a railroad accounting term that refers to a customer shipping its freight pre-paid to an intermediate point, followed by collecting beyond that intermediate point to the destination.

Cylus, a cybersecurity company focused on rail systems, announced it has raised $12 million in a Series A funding round. Cylus will use the funding to meet the demand for its cybersecurity solutions, accelerate research and development efforts and expand the Cylus team of cybersecurity and rail experts.
