IMC Cos. last week opened its new corporate headquarters in Collierville, Tennessee. The 75,000-square-foot facility houses more than 375 employees. L.B. Foster Co. next month will host delegates from 20 countries at the 2022 International Level Crossing Awareness Day (ILCAD), an international railroad conference. On June 9, the delegates will visit the company’s production facilities in Pueblo, Colorado, to learn more about L.B. Foster’s technology solutions designed to save lives and prevent accidents at level crossings, according to a press release. ILCAD is spearheaded by the International Union of Railways.

Keolis last week selected Kim Kuziak as vice president of business development for the North American region. Her responsibilities will include continuing the company’s strategic growth objectives and expanding its portfolio through new partnerships with public transit agencies across the U.S. and Canada. Kuziak joined the company in 2019 as director of business development. Prior to that, she spent 12 years at Transdev in multiple financial and business roles.

Wabtec Corp. board members Lee Foster and Michael Howell retired on May 18 due to reaching the board’s retirement age. Foster and Howell "delivered significant value for our shareholders, customers and employees," said Chairman Al Neupaver in a press release. The company is working with an outside board search firm to identify and recruit candidates to meet the continually evolving needs of the company.

Hitachi Energy has won an order from Germany’s Deutsche Bahn to deliver a 120-megawatt converter station to enable the railroad’s subsidiary DB Energie to secure power supply for the greater Berlin rail network. The contract is good for 30 years of service and includes a digitalization package with maintenance, according to a press release. The Thyrow converter station will convert electricity from the public power distribution grid and feed it into the rail power grid used to power trains and rail infrastructure.

Trinity Industries Inc. has acquired Quasar Platform Inc. from Cando Rail & Terminals Ltd. Quasar is an end-to-end rail logistics software platform that provides real-time data to freight-rail shippers and operators. The acquisition adds capabilities like yard management, activity-based costing and data visualization to Trinity’s digital product portfolio. Trinity will retain Quasar employees as part of the transaction, which closed May 26.
