Koppers has named Tracie McCormick treasurer of Koppers Holdings Inc. and Daniel Skrovanek, vice president of growth and innovation of Koppers Inc. Both appointments are effective March 1. McCormick — who joined Koppers in 2011 and served as assistant treasurer since 2019 — will succeed Jimmi Sue Smith, who was named chief financial officer in January. In his new role, Skrovanek will lead a team focused on growing sales, earnings and cash flow. Since joining Koppers in 2011, he has served in a variety of roles, most recently as VP of purchasing and strategic marketing.
Tests to find out whether Arriva Netherlands’ trains can travel in battery mode are about to start in the Netherlands in the wake of Stadler's recent successes in green technology, Stadler officials said in a press release. The trials will show the effectiveness of battery-powered trains for use on non-electrified lines and will be conducted on a modified WINK train using recuperated braking energy to power the trains. Stadler has sold 300 trains and locomotives with traction batteries in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Italy, Austria, Norway, Spain, Poland and Switzerland.
Kaleris, a provider of cloud-based supply chain execution software, announced a strategic investment in the Intermodal Maintenance and Repair System (IMRS) founded by Buckeye Mountain. IMRS is a software-as-a-service solution for managing maintenance and repair work orders, estimates, invoicing, rebilling and approval to pay workflows for containers, chassis, trailers and other intermodal assets. IMRS is used by Class Is, intermodal terminals, container depots, intermodal equipment providers, ports and marine terminals, and maintenance and repair providers.
East Chicago Transload LLC (ECT) announced it will increase its steel coil transloading capability by the end of the first quarter. ECT is vetting vendors of fixed and mobile steel coil transloading equipment to reach its steel coil transload capability goal of 250,000 tons per year, according to a company press release.
STV Inc. is expanding its presence in Austin, Texas, with a second downtown office. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Feb. 23 to mark the occasion. The expansion will allow the firm to elevate its transit resources in the market with an "unparalleled national perspective," said J.J. Roohms, STV's local Austin leader, in a press release.
