LILEE Systems announced SafeRail, the first complete high-rail collision-avoidance system. SafeRail integrates with SafeRide to protect hi-rail vehicles on the tracks and on the road. The solution provides proximity and authority-limit alerts, a foreman mobile app and obstacle detection. By adding SafeRail, LILEE is expanding its rail-safety portfolio beyond positive train control and brings its expertise in autonomous driving to the rail environment, company officials said in a press release.

Selectron Systems AG, a subsidiary of Knorr-Bremse, has launched a new threat-detection solution for rail vehicles. Selectron partnered with Irdeto to develop the new cybersecurity solution, known as Selectron TDS.

BAI Communications has appointed Alison Perren as group chief people officer. Perren has more than 30 years of international and multisector experience in human resources, having held leadership roles in a variety of global blue-chip companies. She joins BAI from Williams Lea Tag, a marketing and services company where she was group chief human resources officer.

STV Inc. has elected John Porcario to its board. Porcari is president of Axilion Smart Mobility USA. He served as founding executive director of the Gateway Project Development Corp., a joint venture of Amtrak, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and New Jersey Transit; and served as principal-in-charge for the Moynihan Train Hall project at Pennsylvania Station in New York City, which opened Dec. 30, 2020.
