Rail supplier news from Lineage, Cryo-Trans, STV, Dayton T. Brown and Alstom (Jan. 7)

Lineage Logistics LLC acquired Cryo-Trans, a provider of refrigerated and insulated rail cars and rail management solutions. The partnership creates an integrated supply-chain solution for food and beverage customers, Lineage officials said in a press release. Cryo-Trans manages more than 40,000 annual rail shipments and owns over 2,200 refrigerated and insulated rail cars, the largest private fleet of its kind in North America, Lineage officials said. Lineage is a provider of temperature-controlled warehouses and logistics solutions. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

STV hired Charles Hall as senior vice president and director of major project delivery in the firm’s transportation and infrastructure division (T&I). He will support the division’s management and technical delivery teams. Previously, Hall was a senior managing director of program management at a global professional services firm. There, he performed management, oversight and support services for projects such as MTA New York City Transit’s Second Avenue Subway Phase 1 and the MTA Long Island Rail Road’s East Side Access programs. Most recently, he served as program design director for a high-speed rail project in the south-central United States. He was manager of the system startup and rail activation for the Hudson-Bergen light-rail line in New Jersey.

Dayton T. Brown Inc. named Jim Kelly executive vice president and Nelson Cubano, vice president and general manager of the technical services division. Kelly will oversee the firm's technical services, engineering and test, and mission systems divisions. Previously, he was senior VP of technical services, SVP of corporate sales and marketing, and VP of technical services sales. Cubano previously was director of programs in the technical services divisions, and held other leadership roles at the company. 

Alstom's automatic MP14 metro train has entered commercial service on an extension of Line 14 to the Mairie de Saint-Ouen Station in France. The MP14 train — financed by Ile-de-France Mobilites and operated by Regie Autonome des Transports Parisiens — is made up of eight cars. Mairie de Saint-Ouen Station is located near Alstom’s headquarters, Alstom officials said in a press release.
