The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) last week announced its newest member discount program provider is ORR Safety, an ISO 9001-registered distributor of personal protective equipment (PPE) and related services. ORR Safety currently provides PPE products and solutions to five Class Is and 196 short lines, as well as to contractors that support the railroad industry.

Shell Lubricants and Whitmore Manufacturing have formed Shell & Whitmore Reliability Solutions LLC, a 50-50 joint venture to market, distribute and sell lubricants, greases, coolants, reliability products and related industrial services to the North American rail and U.S. mining sectors.

Acting on behalf of four regions in France, SNCF Voyageurs has placed an order with Alstom for the first 12 dual mode electric-hydrogen trains (plus two optional trainsets) in the Coradia Polyvalent range for Regiolis, developed by Alstom. The contract is worth a total of about 190 million euros. This marks a historic step in rail transport’s reduction in CO2 emissions for the benefit of passengers and regions, and in the development of a hydrogen ecosystem as well as a promising sector for the future, Alstom officials said in a press release.

STV Inc. has promoted David Isabelle to senior vice president, and hired Luis Delgado to serve as executive VP. Isabelle oversees multidisciplinary transportation and infrastructure-focused teams in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Canada. Based in Dallas, Delgado will lead the firm's nationwide construction management practice.
