Savage has selected Octopi by Navis’ cloud-based terminal operating system for Savage’s new intermodal rail terminal in Idaho. The terminal is expected to be operational by mid-year. When completed, it will be an agricultural gateway and Idaho’s first intermodal terminal. Earlier this year, Savage entered into an agreement with Union Pacific Railroad to construct and operate the terminal.

STV Inc. has named Kevin Carmody vice president. He is engineering director, national railroads for the firm’s transportation and infrastructure practice. In his new role, Carmody will serve as the primary client liaison with Amtrak in the support of rolling-stock efforts across its national network. Carmody is leading a team assisting Amtrak with its procurement of 83 intercity train sets that will provide passenger-rail service for the next 30 years.

Alstom has signed a contract with Ferroviendord for the supply of 20 trains for the railway service in the Lombardy region of Italy. The contract, valued at125 million euros, is the second within a framework agreement signed in November 2019 with FNM S.p.A. The trains will be delivered beginning in June 2023.

Teleste and Danish railway authority Banedanmark have signed a frame agreement for the delivery of up to 4,500 of Teleste’s next-generation outdoor TFT LCD displays. The displays will be delivered to Banedanmark during 2021–2026, with an option to extend the delivery schedule by three additional years.

Railway Systems Suppliers Inc.'s board decided to move forward with the 2021 C&S Exhibition. The decision was based on input from customers and exhibitors, RSSI officials said in an announcement. The event will be held Sept. 21- 24 in halls A and B at the Indianapolis Convention Center.
