Rail News: Railroading Supplier Spotlight
Rail supplier news from Ondas, Siemens, RINA, AITX and Hitachi (Jan. 23)

Ondas Networks Inc. has received an order from Siemens Mobility for 160 MHz radios on behalf of an unnamed Class I. This is both companies' first order for radios in the North American 160 MHz railroad radio frequency band, which offers greater data capacity and range in challenging geographic environments, Ondas officials said in a press release.
RINA Group announced plans to acquire Patrick Engineering Ltd., a Chicago-based engineering consulting firm specializing in infrastructure, transportation and renewable energy. Patrick Engineering will integrated into RINA Consulting, the group's engineering sector subsidiary. Patrick Engineering is based in the Northeastern United States and has 340 employees.
AITX hired Timothy Jones as plant manager of its repair facility in Clinton, Indiana. Jones has more than 20 years of experience in rail-car repair, including a welding certification and expertise on multiple rail-car types, from hoppers to box cars to gondolas. He previously served as general manager of Cathcart Rail's Indiana repair locations.
Grand View Research Inc. has named Hitachi Rail a "prominent global leader" in the railway telematics market, which the research firm predicted to grow 6.7% by 2030 from a 2023 baseline.
